The story of Nashivai Safaris begins with our founder, Julius Lukumay, a son of Arusha whose journey shows how passion and resilience can turn humble beginnings into something extraordinary.
Raised on the foothills of Mount Meru, Julius grew up surrounded by nature, but opportunities were not easily given. He had to create his own path. For 10 years, he worked as a Gate Man at one of the popular tour company in Tanzania, watching travelers depart for the Serengeti, Tarangire, and Ngorongoro. Their excitement inspired a quiet dream within him, to one day be part of the adventure instead of standing by the gate.
Life later led him into farming and livestock keeping, honest work that kept him connected to the land. But the dream of tourism never left his heart. With determination and faith, Julius eventually took the bold step to begin shaping the company he had long imagined Nashivai Safaris.
