Best Travel Seasons
Dry season (June–October) is peak for wildlife. Green season (November–May) is lush, affordable and less crowded.
Health & Vaccinations
Yellow fever vaccine required from endemic countries. Malaria prophylaxis, Hepatitis A & B recommended. Consult your doctor 6 weeks before travel.
Visa Information
Most nationalities can apply for Tanzania e-visa online at eservices.immigration.go.tz. Visa on arrival also available at major entry points.
Currency & Payments
Tanzanian Shilling (TZS) is local currency. USD widely accepted for safaris. Major cards accepted at lodges. Carry small USD bills for tips.
What to Pack
Neutral-coloured clothing (khaki, olive, beige), light layers for cool mornings, sun protection, binoculars, and a good camera with a long lens.
Connectivity
Mobile coverage in main parks (Vodacom/Airtel). Most lodges offer WiFi. Remote camps may have satellite connectivity only.
Getting Here
Main entry: Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and Julius Nyerere International (DAR). KLM, Ethiopian, Qatar, Kenya Airways fly directly.
